
The Nanpu Bridge, whose construction began in 1988, was completed on November 19, 1991, after three years of work, and officially opened to traffic on December 1. The bridge has a total length of 8,364 meters, with the main span measuring 836 meters. It features a six-lane dual carriageway and is designed for a speed of 60 km/h. This impressive structure spans the Huangpu River, serving as a vital transportation link between Huangpu District and Pudong New Area in Shanghai.
