Lujiazui

Lujiazui is located in the central urban area of Shanghai, along the banks of the Huangpu River in the Pudong New Area. Surrounded by water on two sides, it faces the Bund’s collection of international architectural styles across the river to the west. It overlooks the North Bund across the river to the north. It covers a total area of 31.78 square kilometers.

Lujiazui serves as the core functional area of Shanghai’s International Financial Center and is home to the Chinese (including Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan Province) and East Asian headquarters of many multinational banks. The area features a cluster of modern skyscrapers, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Shanghai Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Jin Mao Tower. The riverside also preserves the site of an old dock.

Lujiazui’s Xiaolujiazui Scenic Area, along with the observation decks of the Jin Mao Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center, have been designated as national 4A-level tourist attractions. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is among the first group of national 5A-level tourist attractions in China.
